June and Summer are here! It’s true, time moves and waits for no one! Enjoy today! Tomorrow isn’t here yet!

Oneida has a Pow Wow being held from June 28th to June 30th, 2024. This is the 50th Pow Wow for Oneida. It is being held at the St. Norbert Hill Center, N7210 Seminary Road, Oneida, WI 54155. For further information call: 1-800-236-2214 or 920-496-5647. Because I did not know anything about my Oneida Heritage growing up, I did not know what a Pow Wow was! This Oneida Pow Wow is an Indigenous-Oneida- cultural celebration that includes dancing, singing, socializing, crafts, arts and food.

I am still selling my book, Sky Woman Lives in Me. It was self-published on February 8, 2016 by Lulu Publishing. My son, Patrick, pictured on the left, above with me, helped me name my book as well as edit it.

Clockwise from the top is my Great-great Grandmother, Elizabeth Hill-Huff-Denny; next, right, is my Great Grandmother Sophia Huff-Powless at fourteen years old in 1891 when she was forced to attend the Carlisle Indian Industrial Boarding School in July, 1891. The bottom photo is me as a little girl living in Milwaukee, WI; the photo on the left is my Grandma Mildred H Powless-Elm who helped me with my book with accurate history about Oneida and our family.

The photo on the right is of my Great Grandmother, Sophia Huff-Powless and her older sister Lily Huff taken in 1891 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
